I am told that we have 2 more years on our present contract with Comcast as our cable provider. The contract was for 5 years and negotiated by a past manager, who is no longer our manager.
I asked our present manager to see if we could add the new Oprah channel OWN, which is free on a basic package from Time Warner (which I have as my provider in New York) and he called the building’s contact and was told no. I also find that lots of stations that I get as part of basic package, with the second largest cable provider, are missing on my Comcast line up here.
I really feel that the next contract should not be negotiated just by the current manager but with someone from the board or someone appointed by the board that lives in the building. I also think 5 years is too long to lock us in to any tech company contract these days.
We are overpaying currently for a below average package. Just my opinion……
Michael Armfield who lives in the building and in his spare time details cars. This is not his occupation but does it for extra!
One day I spotted this shirtless, handsome guy washing someone’s car
and asked him his number, no not for that but for my car!
Yesterday, he took care of my “little Rolls Royce disquised as a Ford Focus” and made her shine and sparkle.
He is very reasonable, and I have used other people before,so please take advantage of this ” in house service”.
His telephone number is 561 541 3466.
He even sends Thank You notes!!!!
Our new management makes a very strong statement about owners using Oscar to do odd jobs for us. Oscar shift ends at 2:00pm and I am sure that he counts on extra work to make more money and who else do we get since we do not have a superintendent?
Update: Management meant to say on their memo to us that we can not use Oscar during his work hours but we are free to use him on his lunch hour or after 2:00pm.
I do have someone that I use for odd jobs and am very happy with him so if someone needs ” a super” just leave me a comment on the blog.
Since this is my first condo owning experience, I have been listening to a program on radio on Sundays called “Condo Craze” and there are two new laws by the legislature that no one here seems to be talking about.
1. New board members have 90 days after election to the board to be certified to serve. It is now law to be certified to serve on a condo board.
2.There is no more staggered terms- each member of the board must run each year. No more two year terms. This did not apply to us as we elected a board last year but applies to next year 2011.
And Dear Linda our night door person, had her thank you note sent so quickly it surprised me. Loved her note and also Fred’s. and now Sarah’s….
On January 25th there is an auction of an apt in our building it is unit #708- it is a two bedroom and has a tenant in it right now.
about #912 was just sold- would it be nice to know who buys these apts – to be the first to know and perhaps welcome them??
